N Harihara Subramaniyan
Joined Lions Club of Padi as member at the age of 24 and was adjudged as the best Lion of the District in its annual conference at Salem. Received a momento from Lion Miskeen and Lion Ummidi Nandagopal.
On the very first year, he took up a fund raising program by arranging a premier show of "36th chamber of Shaolin" in theatre Safire and contributed more than Rs.5,000/- for the club's project fund. On the second year, he spear headed the campaign on Eye Donation in the club by designing and bringing out a special sticker which was put in buses and colleges.
During his presidentship four years later, was instrumental in bringing the FIRST MERGER of two clubs in the district namely Lions Club of Padi and Lions Club of Shenoy Nagar. The new club was christianed as Lions club of Padi Shenoy Nagar, thus raising the strength from 32 to 48 in one stroke.
He was the District Chairman for Corporation schools for two consecutive years during which he personally visited more than 60 schools to support them in their activities.
As District Chairman, God gave him the opportunity to build his own class room at Corporation School, P.H.Road. Aminjikarai where he studied up to Std V.
The three class room were partly destroyede by a falling tree in a cyclone and Hariharan pitched in immediately to put it back in shape spending about Rs. 10000/- from the club's project fund.
